Smudging and Herbs

The burning sage sticks by themselves or with other herbs, incense powders, and roots to cleanse people, spaces, and environments of negative energy is smudging.

The practice of smudging is an ancient ritual created by the Native Americans, has since been adopted by Buddists, Catholics, and many other cultures. Today, smudge sticks are universally used for their clearing and purifying effects. Natural objects that emit positive energy such as healing crystals, feathers, and abalone shells are included by many in smudging rituals.
