The color orange is made by infusing the colors red and yellow. It is a very powerful color which ignites a passionate \u201cloves it\u201d or \u201chate it\u201d response. \u00a0Orange incorporates the energy of red and the cheeriness of yellow.\u00a0 It is not as aggressive as red and it stimulates the mind and sociability.\u00a0 Orange is the color of creativity, vitality, endurance, confidence and passion.\u00a0 It promotes a lust for life, curiosity, laughter, optimism, happiness and warmth.<\/p>\n

Orange is associated with the Sacral (2nd<\/sup>) Chakra.\u00a0\u00a0 Within the energy field of the chakras it governs the emotions, sensuality and our sexual organs.\u00a0 Use its energy to increase, intimacy, joy, confidence, freedom and desires.\u00a0 Orange connects you to others through feelings. It removes inhibition and strengthens self-esteem and identity, thus making us independent and free.<\/p>\n

In Feng Shui orange represents the fire element.\u00a0 Orange energy brings in sociability, increases communication and overall enjoyment in the home.\u00a0 The color orange works best in kitchens and dining rooms, were it stimulates the appetite; in living rooms, were it creates a warm welcoming environment and in playrooms, were you want to create a cheery, energetic, social space.\u00a0 Large amounts of orange can be used in the fame\/reputation area of the bagua.\u00a0 Orange energy can also be used in the abundance\/prosperity, and the love\/relationship areas.\u00a0 Orange is a happy color; if you need some cheering up bring some orange into your space by painting it on a feature wall or with accessories.<\/p>\n

In advertising the color orange symbolizes energy and warmth. It can convey a playful mood or the fall season.\u00a0 Orange is a good color to promote fast-food, toys, energy drinks and clearance sales.\u00a0\u00a0 Although orange is a warm and inviting color its use for advertising can oftentimes be seen as a sign of cheapness. Therefore it should never be used to promote luxury products and fine foods.<\/p>\n

In the wardrobe, orange adds a vibrant splash of color to any outfit.\u00a0 It energizes the wearer and makes them feel playful.\u00a0 Because of its association with the sacral chakra wearing the color orange can add sexual energy and intensity. Many artists prefer to wear orange to enhance their creativity.\u00a0 Do not wear orange if you are working on a project that requires you to concentrate and stay on task.\u00a0 Also do not wear an abundance of orange when working in a group, you might be perceived as smothering and controlling.<\/p>\n
