Sunlight is one of the most important energies on the planet.\u00a0 It nourishes and gives life to the plants, trees and animals.\u00a0 Within the human body sunlight triggers a variety of hormonal activity which in turn influences our biochemical system.\u00a0 From light we get the entire spectrum of color, as seen in a rainbow.\u00a0 Each color has a unique wavelength and frequency, therefore each color produces its own individual energy.\u00a0 The light spectrum is made up of seven colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet.\u00a0 Each color impacts our bodies and environment differently and its use can have a profound and nutritive affect on our lives. The light spectrum\u2019s color palette begins with the color red.\u00a0 Red is associated with the base chakra and is a favorable color in the ancient practice of Feng Shui.\u00a0 Red is also a predominate color in the field of advertising.<\/p>\n

As the base chakra color, red is said to represent all things intense and passionate. It governs the spine (Chi, Life Force), hips, legs, feet, bones, blood, circulation, prostate and adrenals.\u00a0 The color red is a symbol of life, vitality and love.\u00a0 It is also associated with desire, determination, danger, power and strength.\u00a0 Its healing energies are believed to increase ones mental energy, courage, self-confidence and stamina.\u00a0 The color red has been known to increase pulse and respiration rates, raise blood pressure and stimulates quick decision making.<\/p>\n

In Feng Shui, the color red is believed to be infused with the fire element energy.\u00a0 Within this ancient philosophy, the element of fire has a divine energy and is consider both destructive and creative.\u00a0 Fire like the color red represents both the energy of the sun and of life.\u00a0 Colors, like the yin-yang, can have positive or negative attributes.\u00a0 Reds positive attributes include good luck, passion, faith, communication and it has the ability to repel negativity.\u00a0 On the negative side red is thought to induce outrage, impatience, irritation, and passion.\u00a0 Note passion can be a positive attribute when it is used for just and right causes or a negative attribute when it is used to pursue self-centered goals.\u00a0 Many Feng Shui books advise against using too much red.\u00a0 It is often recommended that the color be used in accent pieces only unless you are being guided by a trained Feng Shui consultant; the color red is that powerful.<\/p>\n

The color red demands center stage in advertising and other venues.\u00a0 Reds commanding presence is why it is used for fire equipment, stop signs and traffic lights.\u00a0 In advertising the color red, with its ability to induce passion and energy, can be found in the plethora of \u201cBuy Now\u201d and \u201cClick Here\u201d tabs.\u00a0 What color is Staples \u201cEasy\u201d button? It is red. What is the most popular color for sports cars?\u00a0 They are red.\u00a0 What color is the packaging for energy drinks and teas like Tazo\u2019s \u201cAwake\u201d tea?\u00a0 You guessed it, red!<\/p>\n

Red is also a good color to have in your wardrobe.\u00a0 Wearing red can make you feel warmer, energized and powerful.\u00a0 When you choose to wear something red to a meeting it sends out the intuitive message that you mean business and are not a pushover.\u00a0\u00a0 Conversely, red is not the best color to wear when a compromise has to be reached.\u00a0 Red jewelry can also have the same effect but on a smaller scale.<\/p>\n
