\"\"<\/a>The color indigo resides in the light spectrum between the colors blue and violet. Thus, it draws its energies from the attributes of both dark blue and violet.\u00a0 Indigo is the color of the \u201cNew Age\u201d and is associated with intuition, mysticism and understanding. \u00a0Use its energy to increase intuition, psychic abilities, imagination, self realization, memory, fearlessness and to increases dream activity. \u00a0Indigo energy aids in healing the ethereal body (aura) and connecting us to our unconscious self.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When there is a balance of indigo energy in your life you will enjoy the attributes of integrity, idealism, faithfulness, sincerity, devotion, structure, intuition and a devotion to the truth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An imbalance of indigo can manifest itself as addiction, fanaticism, intolerance, self-righteousness, prejudiced, narrow-mindedness, judgmental, inconsiderate, fearfulness, bigotry and work-holism.<\/span><\/p>\n

The color indigo is associated with the Ajna (6th<\/sup>) chakra, also known as the third eye.\u00a0 This chakra is located in the center of the forehead between the brows and is considered to be the chakra of the mind. \u00a0It governs intuition, mysticism and understanding.\u00a0 It is here that we begin to question our spirituality and how we relate to it. Mastering of this chakra will bring wisdom, intuition, perception, and the mastery of the self.<\/span><\/p>\n

“He who meditates successfully on this center destroys the karma of all past lives, and becomes a liberated soul. Intuitional knowledge is obtained through this chakra, the seat of primordial power and soul. It is here that yogis consciously put their prana at the time of death. All yogis, particularly jnanis, concentrate on this center and OM.” \u00a0<\/em>Swami Vishnu-devananda, Meditation and Mantras<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In Feng Shui the deep blue color of indigo should be used in small amounts in the South, West and Northwest areas of your home. \u00a0Indigo and all shades of blue are good for decorating the knowledge and family areas of the home.\u00a0 If you are feeling depressed or sad avoid over using the color blue as it will add to these negative moods by drawing you further into the depths of the unconscious.<\/span><\/p>\n

Indigo is also the color for the performing arts.\u00a0 It lends its energy to the acting professions by bequeathing the performer with the ability to reach into the depths of their characters emotions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
